The National Historical Park Visitor Center in Johnson City is open for extended hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. until the day after the burial, when the normal Visitor Center hours of 8:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. will resume. The public is invited to view the film Lady Bird Johnson and the special memorial exhibit. The LBJ Boyhood Home on Elm Street in Johnson City will be closed the day of the burial.

These tours will continue until the day before the burial, when they will be suspended until the day after the burial. This Visitor Center will be closed on the day of the burial.

The National Historical Park and the State Park and Historic Site Visitor Centers are both free of charge and accessible to persons with mobility challenges. The LBJ Ranch tour buses are wheelchair-accessible.

On the day of the burial, the public is welcome to pay their respects by viewing the cortege as it passes the National Historical Park Visitor Center in Johnson City. The cortege will turn south at the corner of Avenue F and Highway 290, passing the east side of the LBJ Boyhood Home on Elm Street, west on Ladybird Lane in front of the Visitor Center, and then north on Nugent Street to Highway 290. The cortege timing is approximate, but is estimated between the hours of 10 a.m. and 10: 45 a.m. The burial service is by invitation only.
